TECHNOLOGY OF PARTICIPATION
(ToP™)
To be the first choice in the facilitation of leadership,
organizational effectiveness and transformation through realizing
people’s individual potentials, for sustained best performance.
The Institute of Cultural Affairs International (ICAI), a world leader
in participatory and transformational trainings has developed over many
years its Technology of Participation that ensures excellent results.
What is Technology of Participation?
The Technology of Participation (ToP™) is a comprehensive system of
facilitation methods developed by the ICA that engage the creativity and
commitment of a group in authentic dialogue, consensus-based decision
making, and action planning.
These facilitation methods hold the values of participation, teamwork,
innovation and action.
ToP™ methods can help any group of people – companies, units and
departments, civil society groups, NGOs, government, the legislature,
educational institutions, non-formal groups and teams - to discuss
issues, create action plans, evaluate progress and celebrate success.
The methods also have successful application in the design of long-term,
Participatory Strategic Plans.
Principles Embedded in the ToP™ Methods
Two principles are at the foundation of all ToP™ Courses:
Inclusive Participation – this ensures that every voice is heard, that
every insight is given an opportunity and that no perspective is allowed
to dominate.
Profound Respect - this allows for inclusive participation, by honouring
each individual equally and trusting that the individuals and their
group are capable of doing the work they have set out to do.
